We love when our alumni visit us! B- is a former Tiny Totter helping out in the classroom for community service hours for his 4-H program.
Today he taught the kids how to play marbles. With one simple game they were learning so many different concepts.
They drew a circle in the dirt (writing practice and geometry) and then took turns rolling the large marbles to knock smaller marbles out of the circle. They counted how many marbles each child knocked out (counting, greater than, less than, or equal too). Rolling the marbles worked their fine motor skills and they learned physics when the knocked the smaller marbles out.
Our favorite part is that they were working together and taking turns (learning social skills) and totally immersed in a game that required no batteries.
